Accessibility

Last updated: June 2026

Long Island Wave is committed to making our publication welcoming and usable for everyone, including readers with disabilities. We want longislandwave.com to be easy to read, navigate, and enjoy, whatever device or assistive technology you use.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of abilities, and they are the standard many publishers and regulators look to.

What we do

  • We build pages with clean, semantic structure so screen readers can move through them in a logical order.
  • We add descriptive text to meaningful images.
  • We design for keyboard navigation, so you can browse without a mouse.
  • We aim for readable type and strong color contrast between text and background.
  • We use a responsive layout that adapts to phones, tablets, and desktops.

Ongoing effort

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time task. We test and refine the site over time. Some content, including sponsored features, embedded media, and third-party advertising, is created in part by outside partners, and those elements may not always meet the same standard. When we find issues, we work to fix them.

Tell us how we can improve

If you run into a barrier on the site, or you need a piece of content in a different format, we want to hear from you. Please include the page address and a short description of the problem, and we will do our best to help and to make it right.

Email hello@longislandwave.com, call 631.517.0010, or write to us at 200 Broadhollow Rd, Suite 207, Melville, NY 11747.
